for everyone

Here’s a personal account of how I turned one of my nightmares into a dream and taught me a valuable lesson in my waking life. This is a recurring dream that I had through the course of approximately three years. To learn how you can control your dreams, and it won’t take you a few years like it did me, check out this video.

Not surprisingly, my 5-year old nephew, who was a terror in real life, appeared as a tornado in my dream; whipping around and causing chaos wherever he went.

He would whip around and get into mischief and taunt me. The first time that I had the dream, I was so scared that I stood frozen, not knowing what to do.

I had willed myself to have the dream again so that I could work on this unresolved issue of mine.

After about a year, I had the dream again. This time, in my dream, I could move my legs and was able to seek refuge in a closet.

Still, this did not resolve my issue with my nephew. Although, I was only a few years older than my nephew, I felt that that wasn’t an excuse not to be an “Aunty.” I wanted to set an example.

I was able to conjure up the dream again which was to be the last time.

When my tornado nephew stopped spinning, I stood tall and told him in a calm and loving voice that this was unacceptable behavior.

To my surprise, he transformed back to a human boy again. He looked up at me and smiled. Then, gave me a hug and romped off to play.

I’ve never told my nephew about my dream but since then, I know that my relationship with my nephew became so much better and his chaotic behavior did not appear to be so chaotic, to me at least.
